MBBS Survival Guide: How to Study Anatomy, Physiology & Biochemistry

👤 Dr. Ananya Sen 👁 5 views
Hey future doctors! First-year MBBS is notorious for its massive syllabus. Here is how I managed to survive and excel: - **Anatomy**: Never just read. Draw diagrams repeatedly. Use 3D atlas apps like Complete Anatomy to visualize relationships between nerves, vessels, and muscles. - **Physiology**: Focus on concepts. Guyton & Hall is the bible, but keep your notes concise. Understand feedback loops rather than memorizing paragraphs. - **Biochemistry**: Focus on cycle diagrams (Krebs cycle, Glycolysis) and their clinical correlations. - **Active Recall**: Use Anki flashcards for memorizing drug classes, anatomical terms, and metabolic diseases. It saves hours of re-reading. Remember, consistency beats cramming every single time. Take care of your mental health!

Huge respect to medical students! The syllabus volume sounds intense. Do you use Anki for all subjects, or just anatomy?

Thanks Amit! I use Anki mostly for pharmacology (drug names are impossible to remember otherwise!) and anatomy. For physiology, standard conceptual reading is better.
